Young is the newest star to shine as a paper doll
for Paper Studio Press
Paper
Studio Press, the publisher of vintage-style paper doll books, announces
the addition of another star to the growing list of cut-out celebrities. Loretta
Young, the Academy Award winning actress and television star, will be
the subject of a new paper doll book to be created by Marilyn Henry,
an artist well known for her many movie star paper dolls. The artist's
attention to detail and absolute accuracy in rendering the costumes
worn by stars will make this new book a real collector's item.
Loretta Young's career spanned more than four decades, and the
elegant star was always a fashion plate. She began in silent films
as a teen and by the '30s, she was a glamorous young ingenue who matured
into a actress of great warmth and charm in the '40s. She won the Academy
Award playing an idealistic Swedish farm girl in The Farmer's Wife.
One of the first major stars to venture into television in the '50s,
Loretta Young became a fashion icon when she opened each weekly
show by sweeping onto the screen in a beautiful gown. Marilyn Henry's
paper doll book of this great star, including many of her film costumes
and televison gowns, will be published by Paper Studio Press in 2010
and will be
available from Paperdoll Review,
Amazon.com, specialty websites and catalogs as well as selected stores
and shops.
